Norway ahead of Italy and Norway II

Norway's Erik Valnes completes the triple at the Coop FIS Cross-Country World Cup 2024 in Oberhof: after the sprint and the mass start, the 27-year-old has also won the men’s relay – together with his teammates Martin Löwström Nyenget, Paal Golberg and Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo. After 4x7.5 kilometers, the Norwegians prevailed in a tight sprint to the finish in front of 2500 fans in the LOTTO Thüringen ARENA am Rennsteig.

The Italian quartet, consisting of Dietmar Noeckler, Elia Barp, Simone Dapra and Federico Pellegrino, crossed the finish line in second place. Team Norway II, made up of Haavard Solaas Taugboel, Didrik Toenseth, Simen Hegstad Krueger and Mattis Stenshagen, came in third.

Germany I (Janosch Brugger, Florian Notz, Friedrich Moch and Lucas Bögl) finished in tenth place, ten seconds behind the winning team. „On the eternally long home straight, with a lot of tailwind, I didn't expect too much. That's why I tried to put the pressure on during the lap, which didn't quite work“, said final runner Bögl about his tactics. Germany II (Jan-Friedrich Doerks, Elias Keck, Jan Stölben and Marius Kastner) finished in place eleven.

The Coop FIS Cross-Country World Cup 2024 in Oberhof concluded with the men's relay. After 1500 spectators on Friday, the organizers welcomed 2500 fans each on Saturday and Sunday. In perfect winter conditions, the fans witnessed six exciting competitions of the world's best cross-country skiers as well as four junior races of the DSV e.infra Schülercup. Furthermore, young guests were able to try out the FIS SnowKidz course and gain their first experience in cross-country skiing.
